Registration of Student

• Students who are registered within this form will be deemed as an active student of Urban Steps and its hosting studio/ school.

• As such, they will abide by the practices, culture and philosophy laid out by Urban Steps and its hosting studio/ school and will uphold them with pride.

Leave of Absence

• A Leave of Absence form must be submitted at least 1 week before the class to be missed

• Upon approval, make-up classes will be credited back into the member's account if there is an official (Document Proof must be presented) reason of absence in accordance to the list below:

  1. Certified Medical Leave / Hospitalisation

  2. Official School Events

  3. Verified Compassionate reasons

• Make-up classes can be scheduled:

  1. automatically upon the expiry of the leave of absence on the next available class (subject to class size restrictions)

  2. During event workshops

• A maximum of 2 make-up classes can be credited per term.

• If Leave of Absence is not approved, please proceed to arrange paid make-up classes for certification criteria purposes.(Please check with respective centres for the pro-rated pricing)

• In the event of a class cancellation due to public occasions,  events organized or at the discretion of Urban Steps, the pro-rated class fee will be rebated in the form of credits in the member's account to off-set next payment.

 

Cancellation of Classes

• The studio/Urban Steps reserves the right to cancel any class at the organization’s own discretion and will not be held liable for any damage, inconvenience or loss caused by such arrangement.

• Either a make up session will be scheduled or the class will be post-phoned to the following week in place of the cancelled class.

1. Certifications (where applicable)

   • For studio qualifications you need:

     1. a minimum of 70% attendance

For international qualifications approved by International Dance Council (CID), you need:

1. a minimum of 90% attendance is required

2. Homework video to be submitted at the end of each month

3. minimum of 2-years commitment

 

Withdrawal Notice

• A notice of ONE Month must be given to the school; either in writing or in person. Withdrawal will only take effect from the next term period. Any fee/deposit paid for the current term shall not be refundable under all circumstances.

 

Late Fee

• Students will be prompted to make payment for their term renewal 1 week before the course starts. A late fee $30 may be applied.

 

Push Notifications

• Upon the creation of your account, push notifications pertaining to relevant dance events and other information will be sent to you via the registered email/mobile provided.

 

Waiver of liability

• I / My child recognize and understand the risks of physical injury inherent to dance and dance training and I fully assume those risks.

• I hereby release Urban Steps, event sponsors, its employees and dance teachers from all liability for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted while attending or participating in any dance classes, rehearsals, workshops, or performances.

• I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Urban Steps, its employees and dance teachers for liabilities, costs and judgments arising from acts or omissions committed by me or my child which result in injury or damage to any person or property.

Medical Attention

• In case of physical injury or medical emergency, I hereby authorize Urban Steps to make necessary arrangements to transport myself/my child to a medical treatment facility as necessary. All such transportation and medical treatment will be at my sole cost and expense.

• In extreme emergency, or if my child is under 18 years of age, I understand that Urban Steps will attempt to notify the person(s) I have named above as my Next-of-Kin/Parent’s contact(s) of my/my child’s condition and how to reach me/my child.

Class Attire

• By default, all participants are required to comply with the standard Urban Steps dance uniform when a class is in session unless the respective Dance Coach has stated otherwise or with the exception of Open Classes.

 

Punctuality

• All participants are required to report to class early. Coming in late is highly discouraged as Dance Coaches have to start the class as scheduled. Late-comers may be disqualified from attendance credit for the specified day concerned.

 

Protection of Property

• The student/registrant understands and agrees that it is his/her sole responsibility to safeguard his/her personal property while attending or participating in any classes, rehearsals, workshops, or performances.

• The student/registrant hereby releases Urban Steps, its affiliate dance studios, event sponsors, employees and dance teachers from all liability for loss or damage to his/her personal property while attending or participating in classes, rehearsals, workshops, or performances.

• The student/registrant also agrees to abide by any rules, regulations and policies set forth by Urban Steps.

 

Commitment to performances

• All participants are encouraged to take part in opportunities to perform their talent and skills. Participants who have been shortlisted for performances are required to commit their availability where needed for rehearsal.

Data Protection Notice

• This “Notice” sets out the basis which Urban Steps Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and our direct associates may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process personal data of our customers in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (“PDPA”). This Notice applies to personal data in our possession or under our control, including personal data in the possession of organisations which we have engaged to collect, use, disclose or process personal data for our purposes.  ​​​

Media Release​

• ​“We” reserve the right to use photographs and videos taken during classes, workshops, performances, or other affiliated events for the purposes of instruction, advertising and promoting our programs. Participants or parents of participants who are minors, who do not wish to comply with this policy must notify Urban Steps prior to participation in class.

 

Disclaimer

• While the Information is considered to be true and correct at the date of publication, changes in circumstances after the time of publication may impact on the accuracy of the Information. The Information may change without notice and Urban Steps is not in any way liable for the accuracy of any information printed and stored or in any way interpreted and used.

Breech of Agreement

• In the event, that any of the above mentioned terms and conditions have been broken, challenged or unfulfilled. Urban Steps reserves the right to suspend or terminate the students continuation of classes with no refunds or any form of compensation.
